My last few messages have been all about AI. Even though this group is supposed to cover emerging tech as a whole, there’s just too much happening with AI right now and it’s impossible to ignore. So, here’s another one on AI. 🙂
Mark Zuckerberg was on the Joe Rogan podcast last week and shared his thoughts on where AI is headed. By 2025, he says, Meta will likely have AI capable of performing as a mid-level engineer in their company. There are actually already companies focused on building these AI like Devin. He also said that he doesn’t think AI will make people obsolete. Instead, he believes it’ll give us “superpowers,” allowing us to focus on more creative and impactful work.
This isn’t new. During the Industrial Revolution, factory machines replaced many old jobs, but they also created new opportunities. At one point, most people were farmers. Today, that’s hard to imagine. AI is following a similar path, reshaping industries with massive ripple effects.
The big questions on my mind are:
- What new creative jobs will emerge because of AI?
- Are we ready to adapt to this level of change?
- And how do we make sure people aren’t left behind in the process?
If you know me, you’ll know I’m a big Sci-Fi fan and love tech. So, all this is exciting to me 🤷♂️. But I get that it can feel overwhelming for others who are paying attention. What about you? How are you feeling? Are you prepared for this AI-powered future, or is it moving too fast? Are you paying attention?
